Nearly 50 km south, there is the National park Khao Sam Roi Yod (valley of 300 hills). On the way, we see many pineapple farms. We will see more about the production of this excellent fruit when we make a stop at canning factory.
Before we reach the fishing village Ban Bang Phu, we will take a look at the trained monkeys, witch are able to pick coconuts. We will travel by small boat to the beach of Laen Sala.
From this point we need 1/2 hour before we reach the Drop Stone Cave Phraya Nakhon. In the cave, King Rama 5 had build a pavilion, the landmark of the province Prachuab an. We will go down and have an excellent Thai meal. You might like to go swimming, before the return trip to Hua Hin about 4.00 pm.

Petchaburi Temple |

About one hour bus ride to the province capital of Petchaburi Province, 60 km north of Hua Hin. We visit Mahatat Temple to see a five peaked pagoda which is assumed to have been built in Khmer period (approx. 800 years ago). Also in the edifice are various images of Buddha. 3 of which are highly respected and revered by the people of Petchaburi. -visit Kamphaeng Laeng Temple, a former Khmer sanctuary which later became a Buddhist Temple and then proceed to Khao Luang Cave in an underground cavern housing’ 170 revered Buddha statues.
See the summer residence of King Mongkut (King Rama 5) known as Khao Wang, a palace set on a 95 meters high hill in enchanting surroundings with magnificent views.

This is a short half day trip and is an excellent chance for everybody to see the most interesting parts of town of Hua Hin, as a group. 15 km north of Hua Hin is the largest teak wood palace in Thailand.
King Rama 6 had this summer residence build. After sight seeing here we move on to an exotic animal garden and the beautiful railway station of the town.
Ten minutes later we arrive at Khao Takiab, with its wild monkeys, which we feed and get a lovely view of the skyline of Hua Hin. At around 1.00 pm we arrive back at the hotel

Huay Yang Waterfall |

On this one day trip in non touristic Thailand, you have the chance to collect an experience of the countryside. Nearly 2 hours by car to the south, are located the Huay Yang Waterfall, which fall over 5 steps.
We walk along the river bed up to the nicest pool to take refreshment and a picnic. A visit to the army check point at the Burmese border dives us a chance to experience the tension between the two countries.
Last but not least we have a look at the capital of the province of Prachuabkhirikhan and the famous mirror mountain (Khao Chong Krachok). On the 400 Step climb we are escorted by wild monkeys.
From the top of the hill we can enjoy a wonderful view over the bay and can see the Tennaserim mountain range, which is the natural border with Burma and the narrowest part of ‘Thailand.
After a visit to the city pillar we return to Hua Hin to arrive in the early evening

A recently built Highway connects us directly with the 200 km southern situated city of Bangsaphan. The Road takes us pats the province capital Prachuabkhirikhan. There is the narrowest place of Thailand 14,2 km broad. After a trip of 45 minutes we make there a short stop and throw a glance on the mirror mountain, which is the Land mark of this city. After one more hour we reach our goal by an air-conditioned Minibus.
Directly in a bay our Boat is waiting for us, which is equipped by the crew with snorkeling equipment. Now the trip goes directly to an inhabited island.
Five lonely grass huts in which Fishermen sometimes rest, are standing there side by side, at the side of a pretty bay with white sand.
The water is so clear, that you can see colorful fish. For the swimmer a joy, the friends of snorkeling will have an unforgettable experience. You will see in the water a garden of corals and fish swimming around. Then we go to a small island with a coral reef ‘in front of it. The friends of snorkeling will have again a great joy.

Petchaburi Palace and Thai Farm |

A one hour-ride leads you to Petchaburi, 60 km north of Hua Hin. This busy commercial center is famous for its great many temples (the mining of diamonds= petch=however finished long ago)
Fist you go to the Wang hill near to the city. On the hilltop you visit an old summer-palace of King Rama 4th and the scenic park.
After that you head for the famous Mahatat temple in Petchaburi, a remarkable monument of the centuries old Khmer architecture, an important spiritual center of Buddhism in Thailand till today. In front of the temple you can admire traditional Thai dances, too.
The next destination is Khao Luang (royal mountain), situated about 4 km outside the city.
There you enter an extended natural cave.
Its several cavern are filled with rows of buddha-images including a remarkable large reclining statue. Its particular impressing at noon, when the sunlight floods into the dome-shaped central cave. Another 15 minutes ride passes through rustic villages and bright green paddy fields. Finally you reach a large coconut plantation and new tourist territory. Inside this ‘jungle like plantation lives a German expatriate and raises shrimps with his Thai family.
You have lunch on the verandah of a wooden Thai-house,- in the background the water paddles of the shrimp-pond are rushing.
After lunch a short boat-trip stars in front of the house.
The narrow tributary with its lush tropical vegetation flows soon afterwards into the ) Wider Petchaburi-River.
The small fishing-boat passes along old wooden Thai-style-houses, along orchards, tropical gardens, palm trees and mangroves. It heads for the impressive Wat Khao (temple on the hill). Though famous in Thailand, its barely explored by western tourists. Me hilltop provides fine views of the surrounding countryside. Back at the farm you visit the shrimp-pond, accompanied by the farmer.

Pala U Waterfall

From all parts of Kaeng Krachan National Park the area of Pala U waterfall is the most fantastic with it’s untouched nature, that can be reached in only one day. Located west of Hua Hin this unspoiled jungle area, is waiting to be explored. After only half hour drive we reach a holy area.
Here the King of Thailand King Bhumibol 4 Rama 9 spent the time of his monk hood. By bus we pass two small streams and then near the Burmese border, the waterfall are located.
We walk along the river bed to the nicest fall and take some refreshment in one of the pools.
On this trip you get in touch with the jungle and expenence the forest with huge trees. At approximately 4.00 pm we return.

Forest Park [Mangroves Forest] in Pranburi

We go about 30 minutes southwards. There we reach a landscape of unusual beauty and specific feature. The park is protected by the special protection of his Majesty the King of Thailand. We make a walk of about half an hour straight through the forest on a wooden pass. At the same time we can look at animals e.g. birds and all possible water animals. At a landing place for boats we go aboard on a local fishing boat. The tour takes us through the mangrove forest also to the fishing harbor.
If in the dry season the water level is too low, we continue our trip on the open sea and make a tour in the harbor. The mangroves grow far into the river and are a sight of nature, which you have never seen before.
The fishing boats lying in the harbor are made of precious wood and are already several 100 years ‘in the ownership of the same family. The boats are being repaired over and over again in the local docks and will be inherited from generation to generation.
Then we land and have a delicious Thai menu. After lunch and a short break we continue our tour to next excursion point.
If the water level is high enough we go on by boat again until we arrive at the foot of a small hill. If the water level is too low we take a little walk of about 20 minutes until we arrive at the area where animals can be watched.
The road leads us upwards the hill. Under the protection of one of the guards of the national park we will have the possibility to look after the animals of the jungle. At the top of the hill our reward will be a wonderful view upon the valley through which the river Pranburi is flowing and finally is flowing into the open sea. This part of the tour can also be replaced by a visit of a Chinese temple, which lays on a high hill and opens the view over the whole landscape. This place is a well-known sanctuary for local people, which is being guarded by a big stone crocodile. Towards 4.00 p.m. we start our trip back to Hua Hin.

Kaeng Krachan - Trekking Tour (Wildwatertrip, Jungle Walk, Cave Climbing)

The Pala U Waterfall which you can reach in one day, is at no doubt the most impressing territory of Kaeng Krachan National park with Its unadulterated beauty. Our tour takes us at first into the western rear country of Hua-Hin. After half an hour we reach a region, where 70 wild elephants are staying. We make a stop and study an ‘ elephant museum. With some luck we can also see wild elephants. Further on the tour takes us into the jungle.
Far away from the asphalt streets, we reach nearby the Burmese frontier, the Pala U waterfall, which goes from cascade to cascade into the depth. After a 30 minutes walk along to the waterfall (good shoes are necessary), we are rewarded with a refreshing bath ‘in one of the pools. The temperature of the water is about 20 degrees C. At this tour we experience the jungle in its original beauty and wildness with gigantic trees and unpenetrable thicket.
Then the tour goes on and we reach after about 45 minutes, passing plantation and small villages, Khao Damor. This arising abbey watches over two holy places. We climb about 10 minutes up the mountain and reach the place of meditation of his Majesty the King Bhumibol, Rama 9, the now ruling king.
After a short break- we’re going on upwards. After another 20 minutes we make a stop on small wooden platform and enjoy a lovely panorama of the green hill-landscape in which villages and small lakes are embedded. Almost unnoticed we discover the entrance to a cave. Monks, built the steep wooden steps. After a dangerous descent a monk will open a solid wooden door to the cave.
A breathtaking labyrinth of hall and cathedrals appear to your eyes. Drop stones of bizarre beauty alternate with cloisters which remind you of fairy tale stories from old books about old castles and magic fortresses.
As far as we can walk in the cave, we make a tour and admire drop stones and figures of stone which resembles the ideas of the natives about their gods.
If we take a look to the book of the underground temple we recognize that just a handful of Europeans or other strangers have ever been here. Only a small number of local people know this holy place.
We turn to the exit of the cave again and the tour goes on to a small bungalow hotel in the middle of the jungle. Beneath a wild mountain river there are some picturesque situated well equipped bungalows. We are going to have dinner here. Afterwards we take a rubber dinghy and experience the wild water, through the Kaeng Krachan National park.
After one and a half hour we will be picked up by our bus at 17.00 pm.
